Collaboration
A collaborative design proposal by Gillian Christy and Nora Valdez, Remembrance was submitted to the Hektoen Institute of Medicine competition. This concept honors the collective experience of the pandemic through a sculptural circle of abstract human forms, symbolizing both the body and the spirit. Rooted in branching forms that suggest lungs and nervous systems, the figures represent those who served and those who were lost. A surrounding ring, inscribed with carved text, offers space for reflection and remembrance.
Interior Design
Two lakeside properties in Maine underwent a remarkable transformation in partnership with Principle Group. From selecting furniture, a curated paint palette, fabrics, fine art, and decor, the artist’s eye breathed life into these homes.
Hotels
The sculptures adorning the hotel lobbies serve to not only make a visual impact but also cultivate an inviting ambiance. These pieces were specially commissioned for two prominent locations: the AC Hotel in Cambridge, MA, and the W Hotel in Boston, MA.
Restaurants
Custom components enhance the aesthetics of various spaces, including the interior bar details at Cuban Revolution restaurant, and the exterior signs for Tazza Caffe.
Illustration
Expressing sculpture concepts and fabrication projects through drawing is a fundamental aspect of our work. Therefore, taking on this illustrative storytelling project from storyboard to print, resulted in a delightful children’s book “Sidewalk to the Moon.”
Graphics
Artwork on the big screen includes steel graphic images fabricated for Scott Duncan Films for CBS and Broadway Video for the NFL on CBS for the 2003-2005 Season. Other work has been captured for “The Apprentice” on NBC and the feature-length film, “Central Intelligence.”
