W Hotel, Boston, MA
Forest Abstraction, 2009, powder coated steel
Forest Abstraction was installed in the EWOW suite at the newly opened W Hotel Boston. The relief, which expansively covers three walls of the suite, was a collaborative effort of the artist, Gillian Christy; the designers, Bentel & Bentel; and the Sunne Savage Gallery. Fitting the W Hotel's "virtual garden" theme, Christy translated the tree like pattern from an inspirational photograph supplied by Bentel & Bentel.
